ARF is a FREE development framework for SharePoint, both MOSS and WSS. It provides a consistent solution to common problems found in SharePoint publishing development.
ARF is also complete open source, allowing you to download and modify it to suit your own needs. Each release of ARF includes the full source to the ARF projects.
ARF provides you with a framework which has been designed to make creating accessible SharePoint publishing sites easy. Using ARF it is possible to make your site AA compliant, removing the traces of SharePoint in-accessible HTML.
ARF is a feature which is activated at the site collection level. It provides a couple of lists and columns for you to use, and also makes the ARF controls available to your site. ARF does not take over your site and you can choose to use as little or as much to suit your needs.
ARF is supplied as a WSP which can easily be added to SharePoint and deployed across your farm
By using ARF your implementation will be faster. Because most functionality is delivered in a consistent way the learning curve for developers is very small. Modification to the look and feel become as simple as modifying a file in SharePoint designer, without the need to a full code deployment.
Because ARF provides a large amount of functionality by default the need for writing complex c# code is reduced, and most functionality can be implemented directly using ARF in your publishing layouts.
